Brewster Recreation in partnership with the Cape Cod School of Saltwater Fly Fishing presents an introductory course on the fundamentals of saltwater fly fishing. These courses are open to everyone 10 years and older and cover basic instruction on relevant terminology, gear, and casting. Progression during the course will allow participants to learn more advanced casting techniques and fishing strategies. A three tier progression system allows students to progress at their own pace, advancing tier by tier as skills are developed. To register for the Tier 1 clinic, students can choose one of two days: May 14 or May 21 (Students must complete tier 1 to advance to tier 2)To register for the Tier 2 clinic, students can choose one of two days: May 28 or June 4 (Students must complete tier 1 to advance to tier 2)The Tier 3 clinic is held on June 11.No prior experience is required and all equipment is provided. This course is held on First Light Beach. Participants should expect sandy and windy conditions. Open field space on the property will serve as a backup if the conditions at the beach are not ideal.
