Kids Of The Court: Youth Pickleball Academy (Ages 6-15) - Kids Of The Court (Ages 6-8) Registration For Brewster Residents Opens Monday, May 12, 2025Registration For Non-Brewster Residents Opens Monday, May 19, 2025Dates: Monday,August 4, 2025 - Friday,August 8, 2025Ages: 6-15Time: 2:00PM-3:00PM (Ages 6-8) 3:30PM-4:30PM (Ages 9-15)Location: Brewster Community Tennis Courts Price: $60R/$80NR/Per Child Program Description: Come play the fastest growing sport in the nation. Brewster Recreation has partnered with BOOST Pickleball to offer an exciting weeklong introduction to pickleball program. Through the use of fun games and challenges, kids will be introduced to basic rules, scoring, stroke/play and fundamentals and safety of the sport. Each class will focus on a different element of the game (serving, returning, non-volley zone, transition area) and at the completion of the program students will have a good understanding of how to have fun and be safe playing. Classes will be taught by a Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR) Certified Teaching Pro. Equipment is provided, no experience necessary. Participants will be placed in appropriate age groups. What To Bring: All participants must wear proper athletic shoes that offer some support (no crocs, flip flops or sandals). Court-style shoes recommended but not necessary. Proper athletic attire is expected. Participants are also asked to bring a water bottle and any pickleball paddle they own. Brewster Rec and BOOST PickleBall will also provide paddles, as needed.
