Program Description: Brewster Recreation is offering a two day a week, afternoon sailing program for kids looking to experience some serious time on the water! 
During sailing, students will receive instruction while spending a good portion of their time on the water applying all the things they learn.  
This comprehensive program will teach the basics of sailing from Day 1. The classes include basic nautical terms, docking and mooring procedures, knotting techniques and recovery methods.All sailors will be evaluated on the first day so to be placed in the appropriate level of instruction. As sailors advance, an overview of racing skills and advanced boat handling will be covered. It is our hope that students will build confidence in their general knowledge of rigging, sailing without an instructor, and learn increased technical skills. All students must be able to swim independently. All equipment is provided. 

What To Bring: Proper clothing including footwear, sun protection, and water. Personal life jackets are suggested, however, Brewster Recreation will have life jackets if needed.
